Weekend getaways from Ahmedabad

Drive to Saputara, the Statue of Unity or Diu, take an overnight train to Mount Abu or Udaipur, or head south to Lonavala, Mahabaleshwar and Goa for a long weekend. Monsoon is the season for Saputara and Lonavala, when the waterfalls are at their best. October to February suits Rann Utsav in Kutch, Udaipur and Dwarka Somnath. For festival weekends such as Diwali and Uttarayan, seats go early, so book a few weeks ahead.
